Chandrakant Sonawane hails from a humble background. As a student, he was talented and bright, his inner passion was inclined towards fashion. But, not many would afford to choose fashion designing as a career option back then. But, he made his move. After his course and mentoring from Mr. Amit Agrawal, he entered Bollywood. Impressed by his skills, Sanjay Leela Bhansali took him on board as a costume designer for Ramleela. His next movie Bajirao Mastani won several accolades. And then he became the lead costume designer for the Epic Movie ‘Padmavat.’ He’s currently working on some meaty projects in Bollywood & TTA is proud to have him as a chief mentor for fashion design students.
Manasi Attarde is a name that is gaining popularity as a costume designer in the Bollywood circles. She worked as a costume designer for a national-award-winning movie ‘Yellow.’ She was also the designer for another national-award-winning Marathi movie ‘Court.’ This movie apparently was also an official entry to Oscar. When I was a student, my mentor was Amit sir. He was always there for me to show the right direction, and I really worked hard and gave my 100%. Everyone needs a direction, especially students because they are young and proper guidance can work wonders for their careers. The same was true for me. Now, I am the chief mentor at Times & Trends Academy, and I am looking forward to not only guide these young students but also give them opportunities to work on my projects. I am sure they will love it.
